Over the past 23 years of my career, Gautam has been fortunate to work with stellar multinational companies in diverse roles across multiple geographies. The first 10 years of his career were based in India working for companies like ICICI Bank, CB Richard Ellis and The Oberoi Hotels in the domains of corporate sales and business development. Thereafter he has worked on a diverse portfolio of projects across South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Latin America in management and advisory roles dealing with mergers & acquisitions, debt and equity structuring, financial feasibility studies, governmental lobbying, digital transformation, and digital payments being the most recent, for companies like Xpressmoney and SBK Holdings in Dubai and Infiniti Consulting corporation in Hong Kong.
He firmly believed in a quote by Steve Jobs, one should ‘Make a dent in the Universe. Therefore, in his daily life, he tries to seek opportunities where a small number of resources, time, or effort can make a disproportionately large contribution. He seeks opportunities with a ‘Ripple Effect’, where one action sets off an entire cascade of responses whose overall impact can be really huge.
A fortuitous meeting with a few members of the leadership team at Virtus gave him the opportunity to interact with all and they instantly identified areas where his work experience could align with the organization’s immediate and long-term objectives. He is glad that this opportunity enables him to not only utilize his core strengths but also allows him to effectively deploy his past learnings as well.
