Dr. Peter Cruse is a very experienced senior healthcare leader and manager who has founded, funded, built, commissioned, and operated four significant hospitals in three countries, including the GCC. He also helped to develop and commission ten polyclinics in four countries, including the UK, UAE, and Oman. He is a former South African national medical Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and former Chief Specialist Pathologist at the 1,800 bedded Groote Schuur Hospital (GSH) in Cape Town. He was UCT Professor and Head of Anatomical Pathology at GSH and MBA gold medalist at the UCT Graduate School of Business. He is an experienced Hospital CEO, leader, and manager of multi-site and multi-country hospitals, clinics, and medical laboratories in the Middle East and Africa.

Multi-country experience: As a UK-trained Specialist Histopathologist with an MBA and over forty years of practical clinical and business management experience, the career of Dr. Cruse has successfully combined clinical patient service with senior hospital, departmental and transformational business team leadership positions. He has led or worked in complex multi-site healthcare institutions in five countries in the public and private sectors. He has extensive private equity experience in both investment fund-raising and deal-making in UAE and UK.

Deal-making, Leadership, and Advisory Experience in Healthcare: Among other senior healthcare positions he has held in the UAE, Peter was Group Chief Medical Officer and Interim CEO of Welcare Hospital, where he helped to raise the investment funding to create Emirates Healthcare (owned jointly by Varkey Group, GE Healthcare, and Mediclinic) to build and commission City Hospital in DHCC, Dubai; He was the founding Director of Clinical Affairs for Emaar Healthcare, which builds the giant Dubai Mall Medical Centre, and was CEO of Clinical Pathology Services LLC and Executive director of Crescent Enterprises, Part of Crescent Petroleum in UAE.
